Smoking mullein

Smoking mullein has been practiced for centuries, and it’s known for its expectorant properties. Here’s what happens when you smoke mullein:

  1. Lung Health: Smoking mullein helps treat respiratory issues. It breaks up congestion and makes coughing more productive. The herb is particularly useful for conditions like influenza, asthma attacks, bronchitis, and pneumonia. The chemicals called saponins in mullein help break down lung mucus, making it easier to expel.

  2. Antibacterial Properties: Mullein also has antibacterial properties, which can further support respiratory health.

  3. Preparation: To smoke mullein, you’ll need dried leaves. However, plain dried leaves don’t burn well. Add a small amount of water to aid in burning. For better flavor, consider mixing equal parts of dried mullein leaf, peppermint leaf, and thyme leaf. Grind them into a fine powder and moisten with water.

Remember that while smoking mullein appears relatively safe, any combustion can have risks to respiratory health. 🌿
